About me
My journey into psychotherapy began when I embarked on individual psychotherapy during a challenging period in my life.
Having a safe, non-judgmental space to open up was liberating. It was the first time I truly felt heard. While dealing with difficulties, I realized there were other areas of my life needing attention. Anxiety, insecurity, and difficulty asserting myself were challenges I faced.
Therapy offered me the opportunity to tell my story, share my fears and explore who I was and who I wanted to be. I worked hard to start challenging my thoughts and changing my behaviour. I learned how to look after myself and ask for what I want and need. I started to feel less anxious and more confident
This personal experience was transformative and motivated me to make significant changes, ultimately leading me to pursue a Diploma and an MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy (TA) to become a therapist myself.
I am a UKCP Psychotherapist (trainee register).
I run an inclusive practice, which means I am culturally sensitive.
I abide by the UKCP and UKATA code of ethics.
We all have patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that can be helpful or unhelpful.
Psychotherapy for individuals
and couples
My name is Ortensia (she/her) and I’m a trainee psychotherapist in training in advance clinical training at the Metanoia institute (UKCP registered) and I’m passionate about supporting people navigating interpersonal and relationship challenges across various areas of life.
Many reasons might prompt you to seek support. You might be experiencing feelings of low mood or anxiety, or perhaps you're simply curious about your current experiences. Maybe you're at a stage in life where recent events have left you feeling directionless, disconnected from yourself and those around you, or seeking ways to enhance your self-esteem and relationships.
We all have patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that can be helpful or unhelpful. Sometimes, what is needed is another mind to work with you to understand where you find yourself, supporting you in finding compassion and guiding you away from what doesn't serve you, while also moving toward the person you aspire to be.
A safe and confidential space for you to explore your own story
All those things that are hard to say in usual conversations are welcome here. As a Transactional Analyst (TA) trainee psychotherapist, my approach focuses on the present while also guiding you to explore how your past may have influenced your perspectives.
I’m dedicated to providing a safe and confidential space for you to explore your own story without judgment. Together, we can identify the options that will empower you to progress in your future and enhance your physical and mental well-being. While therapy isn’t always easy, it requires courage and commitment. However, the potential rewards are life-changing and enduring.
My practice encompasses a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, trauma, and grief.
You may be unsure or tentative about therapy or how long to work with someone, and we can discuss this in an initial conversation. I offer an initial 15-minute consultation that is not charged.
As a dual Italian-British national who grew up in Italy and moved to the UK in 2014, I bring a multicultural perspective to my work. Speaking multiple languages has enriched my ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and develop a deeper understanding of diversity and inclusion.
I work in private practice online and in South West London and I offer therapy in Italian and English.
